De Europese “klokkenluidersrichtlijn” van 23 oktober 2019 (EU Richtlijn 2019/1937) bevat regels inzake de bescherming van personen die inbreuken op het EU-recht melden. Deze richtlijn moet uiterlijk 17 december 2021 in elk EU-land worden omgezet in nationale wetgeving.
De naleving van deze regels wordt cruciaal voor organisaties, niet alleen in het kader van de best practices , maar ook omwille van het risico op boetes bij niet-naleving.
